Remembrance Day 11th November 2018 The unveiling of silhouettes to mark the Fallen of WW1 commemorated on Swanley War Memorial.
The Silhouettes were installed by Swanley Town Council with a National Lottery Grant and were unveiled by Council dignitaries, local groups including Swanley History Group, organisations, relatives of the Fallen and local school children. Each silhouette was revealed individually in a ripple effect.The silhouettes will stay in place indefinitely. The information on each plaque was supplied by Swanley History Group from the research conducted by 6 members over the last 2 years and is contained along with detailed personal biographies of each man and a history of the Memorial itself in our book 'Swanley War Memorial The First World War The Stories Behind The Names ' available from [email protected]
